| So, let's get some discussion going. What has 1436 been using as |
| OS? Been with debian for two years now, and liking it pretty well. |

| Also mainly been with Debian/Debian-based for desktop and server, |
| for a little over 10 years. I run a little bit of everything though, |
| at least on a VM. Also, sorry this thread didn't appear for a little |
| bit, little permissions bug with the HTTP proxy! |

| I use Gentoo. It's really a glorified bootloader for Emacs which |
| is in fact my WM, so I appreciate utilities like Genkernel. |

| Yeah, newlines won't work, Bucktooth treats even |
| as the end of request. Search queries weren't really meant for |
| complex input. There is an experimental postb64 item that takes |
| a post in base64 as a workaround though (e.g. /chan/tech/5/postb64) |

| I use Antergos, which is nothing more than Arch with a GUI |
| installer. It's been pretty good as my first distro. Can't complain |
| aside from the occasional annoyance with systemd. |

| What does BSD as a desktop OS offer that Linux doesn't? It makes |
| sense for for-profit developers like Sony and Nintendo to fork |
| BSD for their console OSes because of the licence, but how does it |
| appeal to you? |

| I'm using it just for my server right now. I'd run it as a desktop |
| OS in case of a reinstall at this point mainly because having a |
| coherent philosophy and documentation is more important to me than |
| having new shiny legos that I don't use anyway. |
