If you run in to problems, ask here if you like. What gopher server
are you planning on using?

sorry my client bugged on me and sent it twice
__[2018-07-03(Tue)09:28:04 #150]______________________________________
I think most gopher clients don't keep a "page" cache so Back always
resends the previous request.
__[2018-07-03(Tue)11:52:44 #153]______________________________________
im using overbite now and im not having that problem any more
__[2018-07-03(Tue)12:13:06 #154]______________________________________
@153 Probably since Overbite is running inside a web browser which
does cache the "pages", so Back will not resend anything (Back +
Refresh would create the same "problem").
__[2018-07-03(Tue)12:33:30 #155]______________________________________
oh im also trying to install bucktooth i ran the perl configure
command but it says file not found
__[2018-07-03(Tue)12:44:33 #157]______________________________________
You have to pick one of the configure.* files that applies to
what you want to use, e.g. if you're using xinetd use `perl
configure.xinetd`. | |
__[2018-07-03(Tue)13:23:54 #158]______________________________________
do i also have to make the script my self
__[2018-07-03(Tue)13:28:34 #159]______________________________________
What script? The configure.* scripts are included in the Bucktooth
download. | |
__[2018-07-03(Tue)13:29:34 #160]______________________________________
Latest version of Bucktooth
__[2018-07-03(Tue)13:29:45 #161]______________________________________
they dont seem to be there when i downloaded it
__[2018-07-03(Tue)13:34:45 #162]______________________________________
i did make and it says use the following and it did not create
the files | |
__[2018-07-03(Tue)13:38:07 #164]______________________________________
They are definitely in there when I download it. Try downloading
the linked version in #160 again? There should be three files:
configure.inetd, configure.launchd, configure.xinetd
__[2018-07-03(Tue)13:59:31 #165]______________________________________
i just opened my file and it still gives me this

__[2018-07-03(Tue)14:10:48 #167]______________________________________
Maybe try extracting it with plain old tar?
__[2018-07-03(Tue)15:30:39 #168]______________________________________
i will try doing it in vbox
__[2018-07-03(Tue)15:47:26 #169]______________________________________
Here's a .zip version of the Bucktooth files, might work better on Win
__[2018-07-03(Tue)15:56:26 #170]______________________________________
i got the files now bit its says Can't locate consubs.pl in @INC
__[2018-07-03(Tue)16:46:10 #171]______________________________________
i fixed it by moding the script
__[2018-07-03(Tue)16:47:03 #172]______________________________________
great now its saying it cant find the phfiles grrr
__[2018-07-03(Tue)16:54:13 #173]______________________________________
just forget it | |
__[2018-07-04(Wed)00:28:52 #174]______________________________________
The ph thing is probably 1436chan? It comes with a set of scripts
in the "phtools" folder that you should put in your PATH, for making
dynamic gopher menus in a shell script
__[2018-07-04(Wed)01:13:58 #175]______________________________________
like this export PATH=$PATH:/var/gopher/chan/phtools
__[2018-07-04(Wed)01:14:39 #176]______________________________________
like this export PATH=$PATH:/var/gopher/chan/phtools
__[2018-07-04(Wed)01:26:44 #177]______________________________________
i wish there more docs for this
__[2018-07-04(Wed)01:32:12 #178]______________________________________
it just says drop it in a folder and run a sricpt nothing els
__[2018-07-04(Wed)09:44:38 #179]______________________________________
It does need better docs, but for now you can just run `make install`
in the phtools folder or copy them to somewhere like /usr/bin or
/usr/local/bin. They must be in the PATH for the user running the
gopher server (I think Bucktooth default is root)

thanks man i got it working
